Introduction

Welcome to TabToSheetMusic. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of our website at https://tabtosheetmusic.com and the conversion and export features offered there (together, the "Services"). By accessing or using the Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Services.

Definitions

"We," "us," "our": TabToSheetMusic
"You," "your," "user": the individual or entity using the Services
"Your Material": the tab text, Guitar Pro files, MusicXML files and any other material you paste, upload or import into the Services
"Output": the standard notation, PDF, MusicXML, MIDI and Guitar Pro files the Services produce from Your Material
"Account": your registered account on tabtosheetmusic.com

Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account, accessing our website, or using the Services, you confirm that you have read, understood and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. You also represent that you are of legal age to form a binding contract, or that you have the consent described under Account Eligibility below.

Service Description

TabToSheetMusic converts guitar and bass tablature into standard music notation. The Services include:

Converting plain-text (ASCII) guitar tab (6 strings) and bass tab (4 strings) that you paste in
Importing Guitar Pro files (.gp, .gp3, .gp4, .gp5, .gpx) and MusicXML files
Estimating note durations (rhythm) from the spacing of a text tab, with tools to change durations measure by measure
Playback so you can check what the notation sounds like
Showing the notation on screen, alongside the original tab
Exporting the result as PDF, MusicXML, MIDI or Guitar Pro files

Converting and previewing on screen do not require an account. Exporting requires an account. A new account includes 1 credit, so the first song export is free; further exports require a paid purchase, as described under Payment and Subscriptions.

What the Services do not do. We do not provide sheet music, tabs or any other notation for any song. There is no song catalog, no search for songs and no public library of user files. The Services only convert material that you bring yourself. The Services also do not convert audio, recordings or video links, do not read images, screenshots or scanned PDFs, and do not convert standard notation back into tab.

Rhythm in a plain-text tab is often incomplete, so durations are estimated. We do not guarantee that any conversion is free of errors. Please check the result, for example by listening to the playback, before you share or print it.

Account Registration and Security

Account Creation

You must provide accurate, current and complete information when you register
You must keep your account information up to date
You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential
You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized access to your account

Account Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years of age to use the Services
If you are under 18, you must have the consent of a parent or guardian
You must not create an account if we have previously banned or suspended you

Account Security

You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account
We are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to keep your account secure

Rights in the Music You Convert

The Services are a conversion tool. You may only convert material that you have the right to use. In particular:

Only convert material you have the right to use. That means music you wrote yourself, arrangements you made, works in the public domain, or material whose owner has given you permission (for example a transcription licensed to you for your own use).
We do not provide any song's notation. Any tab or file you put into the Services comes from you. We do not supply, sell or recommend sheet music or tabs for any song.
No public library. We do not run a public collection of converted files and we do not offer public share pages. Files you save stay in your own account.
Copyright stays with its owner. Converting a piece of music into another format does not give you any rights in it that you did not already have. Converting a song does not make it yours to publish, sell or distribute.

If you are a rights holder and believe material in the Services infringes your rights, write to support@tabtosheetmusic.com with the details and we will respond promptly.

Use of Services

Acceptable Use

You agree to use the Services only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to:

Violate any applicable laws, regulations or third-party rights
Convert, store or distribute material that infringes someone else's copyright or other rights
Use the Services to build, populate or feed a public or commercial collection of tabs or sheet music
Use the Services to send spam, phishing content or malware
Circumvent any access or usage limitations we have put in place, including export limits
Use automated tools to access the Services without our written permission
Interfere with or disrupt the Services or our servers
Impersonate any person or entity

Service Availability

The Services are provided "as is" and "as available". We do not guarantee that the Services will be:

Uninterrupted or error-free
Available at all times or in all locations
Accurate or complete in their Output

We may modify, suspend or discontinue any part of the Services at any time, with or without notice.

Intellectual Property Rights

Our Intellectual Property

Our website, the Services and their original content, features and functionality (excluding Your Material and your Output) are owned by TabToSheetMusic and are protected by copyright, trademark and other intellectual property laws.

You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use the Services for their intended purpose. This license does not include:

Reselling the Services or giving others access to your paid account
Copying, scraping or mining the website or the Services with automated tools
Making derivative products from the Services themselves

Your Material and Output

Material You Submit

You keep all rights you have in Your Material. By submitting it, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to process and store it only as needed to provide the Services to you, for example to convert it, display it, save it to your account if you choose, and produce the files you export.

We do not publish Your Material, sell it, or use it to train machine learning models.

Output

As between you and us, we claim no ownership of your Output
The underlying music in your Output belongs to whoever owns it; see Rights in the Music You Convert
You may use your exported files for your own purposes, such as practice, teaching, rehearsal, sharing with your band, or submitting your own compositions, provided you have the rights described above

Content Responsibility

You are solely responsible for Your Material and for what you do with your Output
You represent and warrant that you own or have the necessary rights to Your Material
We may remove material that violates these Terms

Payment and Subscriptions

Pricing

Current prices are shown on our pricing page. At launch, exports are sold as credits, where 1 credit = 1 song export (exporting the same song again does not use another credit): a single song (1 credit, $4.9), a 10-song pack (10 credits, $9.9), or a Pro subscription at $7.9 per month or $79 per year with unlimited exports
The free credit given at sign-up has no cash value and cannot be refunded
We may change our prices. Price changes do not affect a subscription period you have already paid for
We will tell you about a price change before it applies to your next renewal

Billing

Subscriptions are billed in advance on a recurring basis (monthly or annually) and renew automatically until you cancel
Single-song purchases and packs are one-time payments and do not renew
Payments are processed by third-party payment processors such as Stripe. We do not store your full card details
You must provide current, complete and accurate billing information

Refunds

Refunds are handled under our Refund Policy. In short: you can cancel a subscription at any time and keep access until the end of the paid period; an annual subscription can be refunded within 14 days if you have not used it for more than 10 exports; one-time credit purchases can be refunded within 14 days if none of the purchased credits has been used; credits already used for an export are not refunded.

Usage Limits

Single-song purchases and packs add a fixed number of credits; each credit exports one song
Pro covers unlimited exports for personal and teaching use, subject to fair use. Automated or bulk exporting on behalf of third parties is not covered

Termination

Termination by You

You may stop using the Services and delete your account at any time
Deleting your account does not cancel amounts you already owe

Termination by Us

We may suspend or terminate your account, without prior notice or liability, if:

You breach these Terms, including the rules under Rights in the Music You Convert
We detect fraudulent, abusive or illegal activity
We are required to do so by law or by a law enforcement or government request
We discontinue the Services

Effect of Termination

When your account is terminated:

Your right to use the paid features ends
We may delete your account and the files saved in it
You remain liable for charges incurred before termination
Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination will remain in effect

Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW:

Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND THE ACCURACY OF ANY CONVERSION OR OUTPUT.

Limitation of Damages

IN NO EVENT SHALL TABTOSHEETMUSIC BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICES.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE SERVICES SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM.

Geographic Limitations

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or the limitation of liability for incidental or consequential damages. In those jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.

Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless TabToSheetMusic and its service providers from any claims, losses, damages and costs (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of:

Your breach of these Terms
Your use or misuse of the Services
Your Material, including any claim that it infringes someone else's rights
Your violation of any applicable law

Dispute Resolution

Informal Resolution

Before filing a claim, please contact us at support@tabtosheetmusic.com and give us a chance to resolve the dispute informally. We will try in good faith to resolve it within 30 days.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which TabToSheetMusic operates, without regard to its conflict of law rules.

Class Action Waiver

To the extent permitted by law, any dispute resolution will be conducted on an individual basis and not as a class action.

Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms. If we make material changes, we will post the updated Terms on this page, update the "Last updated" date below and, for significant changes, notify registered users by email. Continuing to use the Services after the changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

General Provisions

Entire agreement: these Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, Refund Policy and Cookie Policy, are the entire agreement between you and TabToSheetMusic regarding the Services
Severability: if any provision is found unenforceable, the rest remain in effect
Waiver: our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it
Assignment: you may not transfer these Terms without our written consent; we may assign them, for example as part of a sale of the business
